Founded in Frustration, Built for Better Days
Fork & Function started the way many good ideas do: with frustration over a problem that needed solving.
After her PCOS diagnosis in 2012, co-founder Jess spent years navigating conflicting nutrition advice, endless meal planning, and the challenge of balancing wellness goals with the realities of everyday life. Like many people, she discovered that knowing what to do and consistently putting it into practice were often two very different things.
As Jess explored the role of nutrition in supporting hormone health and overall wellness, Sean brought a unique perspective to the table. With more than 20 years of professional culinary experience, he saw firsthand how difficult it could be to turn nutrition recommendations into meals that were both practical and genuinely enjoyable.
Drawing on his background as a chef, Sean began transforming Jess's nutrition guidelines into flavorful, satisfying meals she actually looked forward to eating. What started as a personal solution quickly became something more.
Following Sean's cancer diagnosis and treatment, they found themselves viewing food through a different lens. Not simply as fuel or enjoyment, but as one of the many ways we care for ourselves, support our bodies, and invest in our long-term well-being. While nutrition is never a substitute for medical care, the experience reinforced their belief that what we eat can play an important role in how we feel, function, and show up for our lives each day.
That belief became the foundation of Fork & Function.
Today, Fork & Function brings together Sean's culinary expertise and Jess's passion for research to create chef-crafted meals designed to make consistent nourishment feel achievable. Every menu is thoughtfully developed to balance flavor, convenience, and function, helping take the guesswork out of healthy eating.
Because wellness should fit into real life. And sometimes, feeling your best starts with having one less decision to make.
